Painting Cost in Bangalore by Locality (2026): Whitefield, HSR, Indiranagar & More

By The Paint & Painter Team4 July 2026 7 min read

Ask for painting quotes in Whitefield and Rajajinagar for the same 2 BHK and you’ll often get numbers 15–20% apart. Not because paint costs more in the east, but because most contractors price the neighbourhood, not the job. Here’s what painting actually costs across Bangalore’s localities in 2026 — and what genuinely changes the price versus what’s just markup.

The baseline: what a repaint costs anywhere in Bangalore

These are all-inclusive interior repaint prices — putty, primer, two coats, masking, daily cleanup and a workmanship warranty. This is our standard rate card, and it’s the same in every locality we serve:

Home sizeEconomyPremium (washable)Luxury
1 RK₹9,000
1 BHK₹11,000₹13,500₹19,000+
2 BHK₹14,000₹19,000₹28,000+
3 BHK₹18,000₹26,000₹37,000+

Per square foot, that works out to roughly ₹28–50/sq ft all-inclusive depending on the paint grade. Want a quick number for your own home? Try the painting cost calculator.

East Bangalore: Whitefield, Marathahalli, Sarjapur Road

The IT corridor — Whitefield, Marathahalli, Sarjapur Road, Bellandur, KR Puram and the newer VarthurBalagerebelt — is apartment country. Walls are usually in good shape, so the job is straightforward; what matters is society paperwork, lift access and a crew that works clean around your WFH schedule. Local quotes here run high simply because the area reads “premium”.

South Bangalore: HSR, Koramangala, Jayanagar, Electronic City

Two different jobs live in the south. In HSR Layout, Koramangala, Electronic City and along Bannerghatta Road and Kanakapura Road, it’s mostly flat repaints and between-tenant refreshes. In the older stretches — Jayanagar, Basavanagudi, JP Nagar and BTM Layout— homes are older, and the honest extra cost is prep: full putty, crack filling, sometimes damp treatment. That’s wall condition, not a locality premium, and it should be itemised.

North Bangalore: Hebbal, Yelahanka, Jakkur, Devanahalli

Around Hebbal and Thanisandrait’s high-rise flats near Manyata. Head further out to Yelahanka, Jakkur and Devanahalli and the mix shifts to villas and independent homes — where exteriors and terrace waterproofing enter the picture and are quoted after a site visit.

West Bangalore: Malleshwaram, Rajajinagar, Vijayanagar

The west — Malleshwaram, Rajajinagar, Vijayanagar and out to Kengeri— has some of Bangalore’s most established homes. Repaints here reward careful prep on older walls, and quotes should show that prep as line items you can see and question.

What actually changes the price (and what doesn’t)

  • Wall condition — old paint, cracks, damp. The biggest honest variable, in any locality.
  • Paint grade — basic emulsion vs washable vs luxury. Your choice, clearly priced per package.
  • Fresh vs repaint — first-time painting needs full putty build-up and costs more.
  • Your pincode — shouldn’t change the rate. With us, it doesn’t.

The locality premium is negotiable — because it shouldn't exist

If a quote feels high “because it’s Whitefield”, ask for it itemised. Real costs — prep, material, labour — survive itemisation. Neighbourhood markup doesn’t. Already have a quote? Get it reviewed free.
